BATON ROUGE, La. – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball team will take their 12-match winning streak into the final weekend of the regular season, competing in nationally ranked LSU's Battle on the Bayou Friday and Saturday.
The Islanders will face two conference opponents again this weekend in nonconference contests after already sweeping the league slate for the regular season championship. Overall, the program is 46-1 against Southland opponents in regular season matches since 2019 and have won three of the four awarded regular season championships.
They will also take on #12 LSU Friday and add on a match against Central Arkansas Saturday for the final weekend before the postseason.
The Islanders faced the nationally ranked Tigers over opening weekend of the 2026 season, falling 4-1 but pushed three courts to three sets. It was the same weekend A&M-Corpus Christi had defeated #20 Tulane for a ranked win already this year.
The program is additionally only three wins away from reaching the 20-win mark for the fifth straight year.
